The valorization of technologies from universities has rarely been done well, at least in Europe, because although universities have produced a variety of potentially valuable technologies, they have often been either ignored or poorly commercialized. Exploitation through licensing of technology appears viable, but even the most successful U.S. organizations in doing so admit that the results achieved are moderate compared to the much larger, evident, but as yet untapped potential.
